Your child will be completing a variety of learning activities in class that reflect the learning targets for Unit 1. These will be graded, and you will be able to track your child’s progress online. For more information about the learning activities please use the tab under clear expectations bar.
Unit Final Exam: 100 pts. Approximate date: December 11th
Students will be assessed through multiple choice, short response and extended response questions. Students should review assignments, notes, and feedback in order to prepare for the exam.
Formal Writing: Approximate date: December
After reading Peak Performance students will write an Informative Essay that will provide information on how Samantha Larson achieved her goal of climbing Mount Everest. This writing will included and introduction paragraph, one body paragraph and a concluding paragraph.

Compare and contrast two characters. You may choose two characters from the same novel or one from the novel you have completed and one from a novel you have read in the past.
Explain how the characters are similar to one another.
Explain how the characters differ from one another.
Use well chosen details from the story.
Be sure that your writing is clear, coherent and well developed.
